I have been working as a freelancer since 2019 helping people navigate through challenging situations or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.

      Family and relationship counseling

      When a relationship starts to deteriorate and both parties feel that there is no way out, there is breakdown in communication and recurrent destructive arguments, imbalance of giving and taking or boundary issues . All these can cause strain within relationships .
      The main objectives of relationship counselling are
      * Recognising the problem
      * Understanding behaviour patterns ( usually repetitive and toxic)
      * Establishing a new partnership to renew the relationship
      * Changing attitudes
      * Renewing healthy communication

      It can benefit premarital, married, couples, pre conception, dating, extramarital and others .
      The No of sessions and therapy to be used will depend upon willingness and choice of both partners to learn, grow and heal individually and as a couple.

      Grief and Loss Counseling

      Grief is a natural response to loss. It is often considered in relation of death of a loved one but it also includes loss of relationship, job or something else entirely.

      The overall goal of grief counselling is to help the survivor adapt to the loss of loved one and be able to adjust to a new reality without him or her. It will help in various ways like

      * Accepting the reality of loss
      * Processing the pain of grief
      * Adjusting to a world without the deceased
      * Finding an enduring connection with the deceased while embarking on a new life.

      The therapies will include talk therapy alongside acclectic approach of therapies to help an individual in creating an adaptive and coping lifestyle .

      Self Esteem Counseling

      Self esteem is how we value and perceive ourselves. It’s based on our opinions and beliefs about ourselves, which we can feel difficult to change eg downplays or ignoring our qualities. Using negative words for ourselves such as stupid, fat, ugly or unlovable.

      Low self esteem create anxiety, stress, loneliness and increased likelihood of depression.

      Self esteem therapy works on increasing and building 5 c’s competence, confidence, character, connection, caring .The other benefits are

      Counseling for self esteem includes talk therapy to understand underlying issues and working towards them using psychotherapy. The number of sessions purely depends upon as immediate changes are observed and felt.

      Parenting can be full of ups and downs, no matter your child’s age. While happy moments may make you love your role as a caretaker, challenging times may lead to stress and questioning your ability to care for your children adaquately.

      Parent counseling provide parents a safe space to discuss their parenting experience, including highlights and challenges. It helps parents learning about their parenting style and how their actions affect their children. In doing so they may understand how to better face challenges in a healthy way for the sake of whole family .
      It also includes child counselling if child is undergoing emotional issues, stubbornness , low self esteem or teenager problems.
      The purpose is to view it in a wholistic way and to strengthen the relationship between child and parents / caregiver as a vehicle for restoring the child’s cognitive, behavioural and social functioning.
